- Divine Punishment is an Ultimate tier assault rifle that you can craft by combining several components and researching them with Anais in Albion.
- You will need to research Polymer Syncytium, Synthetic Fiber, Nano Tube, and get the Divine Punishment Blueprint to be able to research the weapon.
- Divine Punishment is a great gun for support and debuff-oriented characters, by providing the Prayer effect when you buff and restore allies, or debuff enemies.
Many weapons in The First Descendant can be crafted through research. Some are useful options to use as upgrades, while others can be prerequisites for a few of the quests in the game. Divine Punishment is an assault rifle that can easily serve both functions, as it’s both a quest prerequisite and a decent gun in its own right. It can take a while to get it, so we’ll explain how to do it.
How to research Divine Punishment
Divine Punishment is an Ultimate weapon in The First Descendant and you’ll need to reach Mastery Rank 10 to be able to research it. In addition, it takes several rare components to begin researching it, most of which take research and resources themselves. Therefore, as you’re probably used to by now, prepare to grind.
As mentioned, several components that make up the gun have to be researched beforehand. Additionally, you’ll need to obtain the Divine Punishment Blueprint which only has a chance to drop from specific Amorphous Materials. That means you’ll have to fight bosses to get it. Here’s everything you’ll need to research the gun:
Component | How to get |
---|---|
Divine Punishment Polymer Syncytium | Research with blueprint |
Divine Punishment Synthetic Fiber | Research with blueprint |
Divine Punishment Nano Tube | Research with blueprint |
Divine Punishment Blueprint | Random drop |
100,000 Gold | N/A |
Each component with the exception of Divine Punishment Blueprint has to be researched individually, incurring further costs in time, gold, and resources. In total, with all the components combined, it will take 8 hours and 250,000 gold to research this assault rifle, plus all the resources you’ll need to gather.
We found that focusing on one component at a time is the best way to tackle this project. What we did was to pick each component in order and dedicate a session to farming it. That way, you can plan ahead what you need to do with a firm goal in mind.
How to get Divine Punishment Blueprint
Arguably the hardest component to get will be the Blueprint for the gun. It has a chance to drop from a few missions and boss battles, including:
- Void Fusion Reactor mission in Vespers Lost Supply Depot (Normal)
- Intercept Battle (Normal): Swamp Walker (Amorphous Material Pattern: 046)
- Intercept Battle (Hard): Frost Walker (Amorphous Material Pattern: 116)
- Abyssal Void Fusion Reactor mission in Agna Desert Vermillion Waste (Hard)

What does the Divine Punishment assault rifle do?
Divine Punishment is an assault rifle that falls into the Ultimate weapon tier and uses general (white) ammunition. It has decent stats that can be further improved with modules and levelling. However, its main strength lies in its unique ability called Prayer. It can grant one of three effects depending on the abilities you use to help your team. Here’s the breakdown:
Prayer effect | How to trigger | Granted buff |
---|---|---|
Meditation | Buff an ally other than yourself | +5% DEF per stack (3 stacks max)15 sec duration |
Praise | Restore an ally’s HP, MP, Shields, or Resources | -1% Skill Cooldown per stack (4 stacks max)15 sec duration |
Glory | Debuff an enemy | +0.4% Firearm ATK per stack30 sec duration |
As we can see, Divine Punishment rewards you when you help your team. That makes it a perfect option for support characters, like Enzo, Jayber, or Yujin. Alternatively, you can opt for more offensive characters who are able to debuff enemies, like Freyna and Blair. Bear in mind that the stacking buffs you get from Prayer are applied to you, so consider that when planning on how to use it.
